The Pastor’s Study – Summer 2023

In the editorial we look at the subject of the preacher as a sower of the Word (page 3). Then we go straight into the theme of this issue: the conversion of Rahab (Joshua 2). There is a section on preparing to preach from the passage, a sermon example (page 4), a step by step guideline through the study (page 8), and a preacher’s preacher’s workshop (pages 10-11). The feature article is a commentary on the passage (pages 5-7).

In the practical and pastoral theology section, we have a theology of salvation, by Pastor Mark Rutuna (pages 12-13), an explanation of how Christians use the law of God by Dr. Beeke (pages 14-15), an article on the pastor as a leader by Kenyan writer, Tonny Karwa (page 17). Pastor Jonathan Bartlett introduces us to biblical counseling and how we can guide someone to to repentance.

Our history column, Dr. Dr. Michael Haykin writes on the legacy of the great of North African theologian, Augustine (pages 18-19), and on the the closing page our devotional on the theme topic by Rev. Reggie Kimbro (page 20).
