Description

James Bavin Rowell was born into a Calvinistic Baptist home, in Peterborough, England, on March 28th, 1888. He was converted to Christ in August of 1907, at the age of nineteen. Soon after his conversion he felt the leading of the Lord to preach, and in April 1909, enrolled at Kensit Memorial College, the training institute of the Protestant Truth Society (P.T.S.).
After serving in France during WW1, Rowell moved to Canada where he became a leader in the Modernist / Fundamentalist Controversy and established a Fundamentalist Baptist Church in Victoria, BC, Canada.
