Matthew Poole

Matthew Poole was a renowned theologian and Bible scholar, born in York, England in 1624. As a pastor in London, Poole worked on biblical studies and commentary. He died in October 1679, before he finished his commentary, and his friends completed the work. It was published in 1685. He is still considered one of the most eminent Puritans authors.
