Dr Henry Law was born at the Kelshall rectory, in Hertfordshire, on 29 September 1797, the third son of Jane and George H. Law, who was then Bishop of Chester. Law was educated at Eton College and then at Cambridge. He was ordained to the ministry in 1821 and became Dean of Gloucester from 1862 until his death on November 25, 1884. The image above is of Henry Law’s father, George H. Law.

The following is taken from one of Law’s most well-known books, titled “Christ is All: The Gospel in the Pentateuch,” first published in 1867. It is reproduced here, edited and formatted by The Krapf Project, 2026, as an example of Christ-centred preaching.
