A series of lectures give by Dr. E.J. Young at the Toronto Baptist Seminary in March 1965. These lectures were reproduced in the Gospel Witness magazine, and later, after the death of Dr. Young in 1968, published in book form by the Gospel Witness. Used by permission.

Dr. Edward J. Young, was considered one of the finest conservative scholars in the field of Old Testament studies, served for many years as Professor of Old Testament at Westminster Seminary Philadelphia. His An Introduction to the Old Testament was regarded as the authoritative introductory work on the subject.
Dr. Young authored several books including The Prophecy of Daniel, The Book of Isaiah, Thy Word is Truth, My Servants the Prophets, and up until his death served as General Editor of the New International Commentary on the Old Testament.
Dr. Young was a graduate of Stanford University and attended San Francisco Seminary and Westminster Seminary, and held a Ph.D. degree from the Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning, Philadelphia. He spent two years in Palestine, Egypt, Italy and Spain in the study of ancient languages, and studied at the University of Leipzig while in Germany.
